CHESTERTOWN — Two new members and a returning incumbent of the Kent County Board of Education were officially sworn into office Wednesday, Dec. 7.
Incumbent Trish McGee was joined by new members Aretha Dorsey and Frank Rhodes in a ceremony officiated by Sherise L. Kennard, clerk of the Circuit Court of Kent County.
The three members took the oath of office individually in the Kent County George B. Rasin Jr. Courthouse in Chestertown and signed the clerk's test book.
Dorsey, McGee and Rhodes were elected in November. They will each serve a four-year term.
Their term officially starts Jan. 1. Their first Board of Education meeting is currently scheduled for Monday, Jan. 9.
They will serve alongside current Board of Education members Joe Goetz, president, and Francoise Sullivan.
