ROCK HALL — The newly seated Citizen Advisory Committee has announced its intention to hold monthly meetings.
The Citizen Advisory Committee was codified through a Kent County Board of Education policy in October.
Community members applied to be on the committee. Last month, the Board of Education selected the 13 members comprising the committee.
The first meeting of the Citizen Advisory Committee was held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24 in the Kent County Public Schools Central Office.
There are two committee members representing each of the five schools, two at-large members and a student member from Kent County High School. Members serve up to two-year terms.
In addition, Board of Education members Trish McGee and Francoise Sullivan serve as chair and vice chair, respectively.
Following discussions Jan. 24, the Citizen Advisory Committee set the fourth Monday of the month as their regular meeting date going forward.
Meetings, which are open to the public, will begin at 5:30 p.m. They will be held at the Kent County Public Schools Central Office, 5608 Boundary Ave., Rock Hall.
Meeting agendas and minutes will be posted on the Kent County Public Schools website.
